Grade 0 Recycling Playdate with WHPS

- Mrs Shannon Oldnall

On Tuesday, 17 June, our Grade 0 girls enjoyed a wonderful playdate with the Grade 0 boys from Waterkloof House Preparatory School (WHPS).

The students were divided into mixed groups and challenged to work together as a team. Their task was to plan, collaborate, and create something unique using recycled materials. The excitement began with a visit to our Boipelo Recycling Village, where each group had the opportunity to "shop" for a variety of recyclable items to use in their creations.

The students embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, sharing ideas, solving problems, and supporting one another throughout the process. From the planning stage to the final product, teamwork, creativity, and communication were on full display.

The playdate provided a valuable opportunity for the students to build new friendships while learning about the importance of recycling and reusing materials in imaginative ways. It was a fun-filled day of collaboration, creativity, and hands-on learning, enjoyed by all.

We would like to thank the WHPS Grade 0 boys and staff for joining us and helping to make the day such a memorable success.
