Alumnae Assembly Monday 23rd of March
The Senior School and the Grade 7 class welcomed four members of our alumnae community to the Senior School Assembly on Monday 23rd March: Lynn Kareithi (2014), Masego Moloabi and Nozipho Mhlanga both from the class of 2017 and Nothando Nkambule (2020). Our Grade 12 Alumnae Ambassador – Kuhle Mazibuko and her team Lesedi Tau, Tshwetso Tabane and Natasha Magidhi were wonderful facilitators providing introductions, ensuring the flow of relevant questions, facilitating interaction with the girls and presenting our guests with a gift in thanks for an inspiring, lively and humorous interaction. One of the staff described the event as a “power” assembly!
Talking points at the assembly centred setting oneself up for success, resilience and growth after DSG - experiences at school assisting in transition between school and the outside world, how to make the most of opportunities, how to navigate uncertainty, how to think about success and failure in the broader scheme of life and how school can be a foundation for future success rather than a defining moment.
These women, with successful careers in fields as diverse as being a Director of Revenue Growth & Margin Expansion at The Coca-Cola Company, being a software developer for the CSIR and an aspiring Cyber Security Professional, being a sports marketing and brand strategist for Tuks Basketball and being a finance and accounting professional inspired visions of what can be achieved in the future for our girls and we thank them for sharing their experiences and wisdom with our girls.
