Message from the Head of our Junior School

- Mrs Thobeka Mngambi

As we begin Term 2, I am filled with gratitude for the warm welcome I have received from our girls, staff and families. Getting to know the girls’ energy, kindness and curiosity has been an absolute joy. I have also witnessed the unwavering dedication and care of our staff in every corner of the school, and I feel truly privileged to be part of such a nurturing environment.

This week, we celebrated Africa Day and seeing our community proudly dressed in vibrant African attire on Monday, 26 May was a powerful reminder of the richness and strength of our country's diversity. It was a celebration that reflected the unity and pride we share in our heritage.

The Head of Junior School Induction on 29 May was a truly special moment. Surrounded by family, friends, former colleagues and our school community, I felt deeply honoured to be officially welcomed into the St Mary’s family. As we look ahead to Youth Month in June, I am excited about the many opportunities for our girls to grow in leadership and voice. It is a privilege to witness our beautiful students’ confidence and character blossom each day.

Staff Professional Development

Staff members from both the Junior and Senior Schools attended the InnovateEdu, a STEAM focused, professional development conference on 23 and 24 May. The International presenters were inspiring and shared valuable skills to enhance teaching methods through the use of technology.
