Interhouse Mathematics Quiz Brings Festive Cheer
On 14 November, the school hosted its annual Interhouse Mathematics Quiz, an event that has become a highlight of the academic calendar. The theme for this year was Summer Christmas, and the atmosphere was vibrant as girls arrived adorned with festive accessories, ready to showcase both their house spirit and their mathematical prowess.
Participants were organised into F2T groups, ensuring that each team included girls from different grades. This structure encouraged collaboration and mentorship, with Grade 7 learners taking the lead and guiding their younger sisters through a series of engaging mathematical challenges. The sense of camaraderie was evident as older students patiently explained concepts and strategies, fostering an environment of support and learning.
The competition was intense, with answers whispered in hushed tones as teams raced to secure vital house points and the ultimate bragging rights. Every round featured creative and stimulating activities designed to test problem-solving skills while keeping the experience enjoyable for all involved.
After a morning filled with excitement and teamwork, St Andrew emerged triumphant, claiming the coveted Mathematics crown. The event was not only a celebration of academic excellence but also a testament to the power of collaboration and school spirit. It was a day that combined learning with laughter, leaving participants with fond memories and renewed enthusiasm for the subject.
