Eskom Science Expo

This year, St Mary’s DSG is proud to be represented by 3 students taking part in the Eskom Science Expo. It has been a number of years since the school last entered participants in this event and so it has been a privilege to observe and engage with these students in completing these projects, made even sweeter by the fact that they have been chosen to move through to the regional expo, previously called the National Expo, will take place in August, where we hope that our students will get through to the International Expo towards the end of the year.

The students involved, and their project titles are:

  • Olivia Barker: Measuring the impact of the Bankrotbos invasion on soil mite populations within soil ecosystems in the Waterberg
  • Sphesihle Nxumalo and Morongoa Sebola: Enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of succession of plant populations in mine rehabilitation

We wish these three students much success in this journey!
