Boarder Farewell
Tonight, we stand together to honour a very special group — our Grade 12 boarders, the Class of 2025.
This evening is a celebration, a farewell, and a moment of reflection on the journey we have shared. Grade 12s, when you first walked through the doors of the Boarding House, many of you were nervous, perhaps even unsure of what awaited you. But over time, you grew into this space, making it your home away from home. You have filled these halls with laughter, with late-night conversations, with tears of both joy and struggle, and with memories that will never fade. You have also been leaders. The younger boarders have looked up to you, learned from you, and been inspired by your courage, your kindness, and your sense of responsibility. You showed them how to live not just as individuals, but as sisters — supporting one another through the ups and downs of boarding life.
To our leadership team. Tebello, our Head of Boarding, and Lethabo, our Vice Head of Boarding — thank you for leading with such dignity, warmth, and courage. You have carried the responsibility of guiding this community with grace, ensuring that every boarder felt seen and valued. And to our Boarding Leaders, thank you for your dedication, for stepping up to serve, and for embodying what it means to lead through action and example. Your contribution has been invaluable, and your leadership has set a standard for those who will follow. Boarding is not always easy. It demands resilience, adaptability, and maturity. But through the challenges, you found strength. You discovered your voice. You built friendships that will travel with you beyond these walls. And perhaps most importantly, you learned that “home” is not only where you live, but where you are loved, accepted, and valued.
As you prepare to leave, know that you take with you more than just your belongings. You take with you the spirit of this family — the lessons, the laughter, the traditions, and the love that has been woven into your story. You will always have a place here, and we will always be proud to call you our own. And so, as we say farewell, we do not say goodbye — because you will always be a part of this Boarding House. Tonight, we send you off with our prayers, our love, and our unshakable belief in your potential. Now, may I ask everyone to please raise their glasses. Here’s to the Grade 12s of 2025: May your futures be bold and bright. May your journeys be guided by courage and compassion. May your friendships remain strong, even as you scatter across the world. And may you always remember that you carry with you the love and spirit of your Boarding Family. To the Class of 2025 — cheers
