Alumnae Spotlight: Madeleine Kruger—A Journey of Excellence and Opportunity

Our 2024 Head Girl, Madeleine Kruger, continues to make us proud as she embarks on an exciting new academic journey. A high-distinction candidate in her matric year, Madeleine demonstrated exceptional academic ability while also mastering French. She successfully completed the DELF B2 certificate, an impressive qualification equivalent to a native French speaker—a skill that has already opened extraordinary doors for her.

Currently pursuing a degree in medicine at the University of Pretoria, Madeleine recently applied for an enrichment course in Belgium and was selected. The Embassy of Belgium opened applications for South African students to apply for a course that focuses on deepening their knowledge and practice of French. This July, Madeleine will embark on her voyage for three weeks, where she will complete an accredited course at the renowned Université Libre de Bruxelles.

Adding to this remarkable achievement, all expenses for her trip will be fully covered by Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI), an organisation dedicated to fostering global educational exchange. Her selection not only highlights her individual excellence but also underscores the immense value of learning a foreign language—one that enhances academic and professional pursuits while unlocking international opportunities.
