On 23 September 2025, the annual St Mary’s DSG Debutantes’ Golf Day took place at the beautiful Wingate Park Country Club, drawing together a record-breaking crowd of enthusiastic participants, sponsors, and supporters.
The day saw 28 teams made up of corporate partners, invited guests, and parents take to the course, creating a wonderful atmosphere of camaraderie and competition. Our heartfelt appreciation goes to our main sponsor, CIPS, whose support made the day possible, as well as to Kitso Bohlale Consulting, our generous dinner sponsor. In addition, we extend a sincere thank you to the many sponsors who donated an impressive array of prizes, ensuring excitement and celebration throughout the day.
While the golfers were in action, the Debutantes enjoyed an afternoon of lawn bowls, guided by teams from the Irene Country Club Bowling Club. It was an afternoon filled with laughter, learning new skills, and celebrating a year of remarkable achievement and growth.
A special word of gratitude must go to the incredible Grade 10 Parents’ Committee, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the event’s resounding success. Their dedication and commitment resulted in record-breaking sponsorship and attendance figures, a true testament to the spirit of our school community.
As the sun set, guests gathered under the trees to enjoy a relaxed evening of live music, delicious food, and warm fellowship. The highlight of the evening was the shared knowledge that every cent raised would go directly to the charities supported by St Mary’s DSG—a reflection of the generosity and compassion that define our school.
This year’s Debutantes’ Golf Day and Lawn Bowls event was not only a celebration of community and achievement but also a powerful reminder of the impact we can make when we come together for a greater cause.
