Senior School Prizegiving 2026
On 7 October 2026, St Mary’s DSG held its Senior School Prizegiving, recognising over 150 students for their achievements in Academics, Sport and the Arts. Prizegiving began as Speech Day, one of the school's oldest traditions. The name has changed, but the purpose has not: as generations of St Mary’s girls have done before them, our students gathered to celebrate, give thanks, and look ahead with hope.
Then, as now, St Mary’s girls are called to be Filiae Regis, Daughters of the King, and to use their gifts with humility, courage and a spirit of service. Awards were presented for service, courtesy, good fellowship and character as well as achievement, and 14 matrics were recognised for spending their whole school career, from Grade 0 to Matric, at St Mary’s DSG.
The Senior School Orchestra, the St Mary’s Singers and Nkazimulo Sibisi, with a dramatic monologue, performed during the evening. Congratulations to all our award recipients.
