Senior Inter-House Plays
The House Plays of 2025, held at the Diocesan Hall on Monday, 18 March, were an overwhelming success, showcasing the immense talent and creativity of the students at St. Mary's. The event was an electrifying display of passion, teamwork, and dedication, as each house brought its own unique flair and excitement to the stage. The evening was not only an impressive testament to the hard work of the performers and the crew but also to the spirit of camaraderie that defines St. Mary's.
Each house took on a mammoth task in preparing their plays, and the results were nothing short of spectacular. St. Andrew presented Murder on the Blue Train, a thrilling whodunit that had the audience on the edge of their seats. St. Patrick’s Level 16 transported us to a chilling, dystopian world that captivated with its suspense and thought-provoking themes. St. George's Barbie added a touch of whimsy and fun, embracing a lighthearted yet heartfelt narrative that resonated with all who watched. Finally, St. David’s The Woman King was a powerful performance, combining strength, history, and emotion in a way that left an indelible impact on the audience.
The judges, two reputable figures in the world of theater, had their hands full as they navigated through the various performances, each more impressive than the last. The tension in the hall was palpable, but the true highlight of the evening was when St. David was announced as the winning house. Their performance of The Woman King was a standout, showcasing exceptional acting, direction, design and choreography. It was a well-deserved victory for St. David, but truly, each house brought their best, and their contributions to this memorable night should be celebrated.
What made this night even more remarkable was the sense of unity and school spirit that filled the air. The support from fellow students, teachers, and staff created an atmosphere that was both encouraging and motivating. Every student who participated in this event—whether as an actor, director, costume designer, or part of the behind-the-scenes team—deserves to be proud of their efforts. The hard work and commitment that went into these performances were evident, and they embodied the excellence that St. Mary's is known for.
In the end, the House Plays of 2025 proved that St. Mary’s girls are not only capable of tackling challenges but can execute them with grace, enthusiasm, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. Each house showed that they could shine in their own way, and together, they created a night that will be remembered for years to come. Congratulations to St. David and to all the houses for making the House Plays of 2025 a truly unforgettable event.
