Hockey

It has been a long, challenging and incredibly rewarding hockey season, and we are immensely proud of what our girls have achieved. Their commitment, hard work and determination throughout the season have been exceptional, and their performances have demonstrated the growth and development of our hockey programme.

Our U10A team had an outstanding season, finishing top of their pool with the highest points in the Daisy League. They also qualified for the quarter-finals of the Northerns League, an incredible achievement for the team.

The U11A also enjoyed a highly successful season, finishing second in their pool with the second-highest points in the Daisy League. Their excellent performances saw them qualify for the Northerns League quarter-finals.

Our U12A team finished top of their pool and third overall in the Daisy League, narrowly missing out on a place in the quarter-finals. Their season was a wonderful reflection of the girls' resilience, determination and continued improvement.

We are incredibly proud of all our hockey players and the dedication they have shown throughout the season. Every training session, match and challenge has contributed to their development, and their achievements are a testament to the hard work of the girls, coaches and families who have supported them.

Congratulations to Our Indoor Hockey Representatives

We are also delighted to celebrate the selection of several of our talented hockey players for the Gauteng-based Tshwane Titans franchise indoor teams.

Congratulations to:

Lesedi Mahlare and Minenhle Mazibuko, selected for the U12A Tshwane Titans team.

Alessia Gomes, Kaone Kgosana, Nobuhle Dlamini and Stella Bicknell, selected for the U12B Tshwane Titans team.

Tasha Rikhotso, Thabile Moropa and Unahina Milondzo, selected for the U11C Tshwane Titans Team

The girls will represent the Tshwane Titans at the 2026 ProSeries Indoor (PSI) National Indoor Hockey Tournament in Durban. This is a significant achievement and a wonderful recognition of their talent, dedication and commitment to hockey.

We wish all our girls the very best as they take on this exciting opportunity and represent their franchise on the national stage.

Tennis at Sun City

During the August holidays, Esmae Shinners, Ntivo Mushwana, Amani Halama, Anaaya Hamissi, Ditheto Makena and Louisa Boakye represented the school at the Sun City Tennis Tournament.

The girls enjoyed a competitive tournament, recording the following results:

Match 1 vs St Katherine’s: 44–31 win for DSG

Match 2 vs Dainfern: 22–53 loss

Match 3 vs St Dunstan: 49–26 win

Match 4 vs Roedean – Cross Pool: 11–38 loss

Match 5 vs Dainfern – 3rd/4th Place: 18–36 loss

The team finished 4th overall in the tournament, which is a wonderful achievement. We are incredibly proud of the girls for the way they competed, supported one another and represented the school.

A special thank you goes to the parents who travelled to support the girls. Their encouragement and presence made the experience even more memorable. The girls also enjoyed some time away from the courts, including a visit to the Valley of Waves and a dinner at Spur, creating wonderful memories alongside their sporting experience.

Squash Success

We are delighted to congratulate Diketso Tlhapane and Charlotte van Woerkom, who have been selected to attend the National U13 Squash Training Camp, taking place from 23–27 September 2026.

Each province was invited to nominate its top three players from the U13A IPT team, making this a significant achievement for both girls. They will have the opportunity to train alongside some of the country's top junior squash players and gain valuable experience at national level.

A special congratulations goes to Diketso Tlhapane on achieving a South African Top 10 ranking. This is an outstanding accomplishment and a reflection of her dedication and commitment to squash.

Celebrating Our Girls

From hockey pitches and indoor courts to tennis courts and squash championships, our girls continue to demonstrate that sport is about so much more than results. It is about perseverance, teamwork, discipline, resilience and having the courage to challenge yourself.

We are incredibly proud of every girl who represented our school this season. Congratulations to our players, coaches and families on a wonderful season of sport. We look forward to seeing our girls continue to grow, develop and embrace every opportunity that comes their way.
