Junior Hockey Festival 2026 – A Celebration of Sport, Friendship and School Spirit
The St Mary’s U12 and U13 Hockey Festival was an outstanding success, bringing together young hockey players, families, coaches, and supporters for three memorable days of hockey, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.
Across the festival, our players embraced every opportunity to learn, compete, and connect with fellow athletes from a range of visiting schools, including Cornwall Hill College, St Teresa’s School, Laerskool Lynnwood, APPS, HeronBridge College, Roedean School, and Laerskool Menlopark. The event provided an exciting platform for our girls to test their skills against quality opposition while building friendships and creating lasting memories.
While the hockey on display was highly competitive, the true success of the festival lay in the spirit in which the games were played. Respect for opponents, teamwork, resilience, and encouragement were evident on every field. Our U12 and U13 teams represented St Mary’s with pride, demonstrating excellent sportsmanship, a genuine love for the game, and showing they were worthy opponents.
Events of this scale rely on the collective effort of an entire community, and we extend our sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to the festival’s success. Thank you to our parents for their unwavering support, our staff for their dedication and countless hours of planning and organisation, and our broader school community for helping create a welcoming and vibrant festival atmosphere.
The Junior Hockey Festival once again showcased the power of sport to bring people together, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful experiences for young athletes. Most importantly, our girls thoroughly enjoyed every moment, both on and off the field.
Thank you to everyone who played a part in making this year’s festival such a tremendous success. It was truly a festival to remember and undoubtedly one for the St Mary’s memory bank.
