Interest Table Fun
This term, our classrooms have been enriched with the introduction of three captivating interest tables in our SmartZone, each designed to engage students from Grade 00 to Grade 3 in immersive, hands-on learning experiences. The themes- 'Dinosaurs', 'Nature', and 'Out of the Blue'- have been thoughtfully selected to stimulate exploration and discovery appealing to their innate curiosity.
During our ‘Dinosaur’ theme girls delved into the prehistoric world, examining fossil replicas and engaging in imaginative play that brought ancient creatures to life, girls loved the excavating and created a real mess- some archaeologists in the making! Our ‘Nature’ table transformed our space. Girls loved engaging in exploring seeds, nests, leaves and feathers using a magnifying glass and a lightbox. Our ‘Out of the Blue’ theme has allowed sensory play through engaging with water beads and kinetic sand, exploring magnets, investigating sinking and floating and our much loved ‘walk the plank’ balance beam.
These interest tables have proven to be invaluable in extending our students' vocabulary and igniting a passion for discovery. By providing opportunities for sensory-rich, hands-on exploration, we are nurturing inquisitive minds and laying the foundation for lifelong learning.
Many thanks go to our teachers who carefully plan and initiate these interest tables for our girls and to our parents for their contribution to the list of items we needed.
It is good to see our girls learning through play! We look forward continuous exploring in Term 2.
