AMDA Hosts Acting for Film Workshop for Grade 12 Dramatic Arts Students

The Grade 12 Dramatic Arts students were treated to an exclusive Acting for Film workshop by representatives from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA).

Held in the school’s drama studio, the workshop provided students with valuable insights into the nuances of screen acting, including camera awareness, subtle performance techniques, and the differences between stage and film acting. AMDA’s experts guided students through practical exercises, helping them refine their on-camera presence and adapt their performances for the screen.

The visit not only exposed students to international training opportunities but also reinforced the importance of versatility in the performing arts. The school extends its gratitude to AMDA for this exciting opportunity!

Adding to the excitement, the visit highlighted the success of a former DSG student, Mmamoloko Rasebotsa, who is currently completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performing Arts: Acting & Content Creation degree program at the AMDA Los Angeles campus. Her journey serves as an inspiration to aspiring performers, showing that international training and professional opportunities are within reach.
