Junior School
Building skills and confidence
The St Mary’s DSG Junior School sports programme is designed to nurture young girls’ physical, social and emotional development in an inclusive, fun environment, where they can develop foundational skills and a love for sport.
Programme highlights
- Skill development. Students are introduced to fundamental skills in sports through age-appropriate activities such as hockey, netball, swimming and tennis
- Team spirit. Through friendly matches and inter-house competitions, students learn the values of teamwork, respect and sportsmanship
- Confidence building. Students are supported to explore new activities and encouraged to celebrate achievements
- Holistic growth. Sports sessions incorporate life lessons, helping girls to develop resilience and perseverance, and to set goals for themselves
From their earliest years, our Junior School girls are encouraged to take their first steps toward physical literacy and personal achievement, forming habits that will serve them for life.
