Valediction

- Mrs Mickaele Jenkins

What a joyful morning it was as we celebrated and honoured our Matric Class of 2026 at their Valediction Service.

One of the most special traditions of the morning was the girls’ final walk through the Labyrinth, followed by the ringing of the Bell as they entered the Chapel one last time as students of St Mary’s DSG.

The Eucharist was deeply meaningful, filled with music, words of wisdom and moments of reflection. Each girl received a Bible and a candle as reminders of faith, light and the journey that lies ahead. As they left the Chapel, the girls were welcomed by an imbongi, whose encouragement sent them confidently towards their futures. The matrics then led the Pledge with the school one final time.

The morning continued over a beautiful brunch, where we shared a meal and memories, accompanied by heartfelt speeches from the Grade Head, Head of School, Alumnae Representatives and the Vice Head Girls. It was a morning filled with faith, love, gratitude and celebration.
