Pretoria Public Speaking Festival
The Pretoria Public Speaking Festival was a resounding success in 2026. The competition highlights the remarkable dedication, preparation, and talent of all speakers involved. The competition provided an opportunity for students to develop confidence, refine their communication skills, and engage meaningfully with a range of thought-provoking topics.
In the weeks leading up to the festival, participants invested significant effort in researching, writing, and rehearsing their speeches. This commitment was evident in the high standard of presentations delivered across all grades. Learners demonstrated not only strong speaking abilities but also discipline, resilience, and a willingness to grow through constructive feedback and practice.
The quality of performances across Grades 8 to 12 was consistently impressive. Many students achieved excellent results, including several A+ and A++ symbols in the group competition.
Particular recognition must be given to the individual speakers who excelled at the festival. Khanyisa Zita achieved outstanding success as the Junior Winner, demonstrating remarkable humour, confidence and skill. In the senior category, Tanatswa Mlanda earned a place in the Top 5, highlighting excellence at a highly competitive level.
The Grade 10 group consisting of Ndzalama Sithole, Wiza Sikazwe, Katlego Maroleni, and Dineo Ntlaleng delivered an exceptional performance. Their collaboration, cohesion, and polished delivery set them apart and earned them well-deserved recognition as overall winners in Grade 10.
The Pretoria Public Speaking Festival remains an important platform for our students to develop and compete at the highest level in the region. The success of this year’s competition is a testament to the hard work of all participants as well as the commitment of the coaches and teachers who made the event possible.
