Intersen Phase Happenings

- Mrs Hildegard Joseph

As teachers, we are always amazed at how much the girls grow—physically, emotionally, and socially—over the holidays. For our Grade 4 girls, a particularly special milestone has been wearing their winter uniforms for the very first time. The excitement was tangible as they stepped onto campus, looking so proud and grown up in their new attire!

While we celebrate moments of growth, we are also mindful that each developmental milestone brings new challenges. Factors such as puberty, tiredness, and anxiety can impact how our students engage with one another. We continue to support them in navigating friendships and social dynamics by reinforcing the difference between rude, mean, and bullying behaviours.

We began the term with our #SaferTogether Week, which focused on reconnecting after the break and warmly welcoming new girls and staff into our community. Through the programme, the girls explored ways to manage conflict in friendships, reconnected with peers and teachers, and extended heartfelt welcomes to those new to our school.

The pace of the term has been swift and full of energy. With netball season in full swing, preparations for music performances underway, Eisteddfod performances, and the assessment cycle in progress, our girls are learning how to juggle a range of responsibilities. It’s an ideal time to encourage them to practise time management, set realistic goals, and remember to pause for rest and reflection. Maintaining a healthy balance between academics, extra-murals, and downtime is essential for thriving in a busy school term.
