Pi Day in the Foundation Phase
Our Foundation Phase students had a wonderful time celebrating Pi Day on Monday, 16 March, as they explored the fascinating world of circles and how we measure them. The day blended mathematics, creativity, and movement in a way that made learning both meaningful and memorable. The girls kept their energy levels high by exercising according to the digits of Pi (3 star jumps, 1 lunge, 4 squats, and so on), turning numbers into a fun physical challenge. They also listened to a lively Pi song that challenged them to learn the first one hundred digits of Pi, filling the classrooms with giggles as everyone tried to keep up. Each grade enjoyed a unique creative activity in which they were free to express themselves around the theme of Pi: the Grade 00s crafted eye-catching bottle-top circle art pieces, the Grade 0s experimented with colourful circular pattern printing, the Grade 1s produced beautiful dot artworks, and the Grade 2s constructed imaginative city skylines using the digits of Pi. The Grade 3s created striking tree artworks inspired by the abstract style of Wassily Kandinsky. All in all, it was a joyful day filled with curiosity, creativity, laughter, and hands-on discovery.

Grade 1 and 2 Production: The Magic Express
The Grade 1s and 2s delighted audiences at their Drama Evening with The Magic Express, a journey through enchanting performance stations. Their first stop began at The Singing Station, where they began singing with the help of “Do, Re, Me”. At the Body Percussion Station, rhythm came alive as their bodies made a beat. The girls were all aboard as the Imagination Station transformed movement into storytelling. Throughout the evening, the girls dazzled with their vibrant singing, costumes, expressive make-up and energetic dancing. It was truly a magical evening, showcasing the creativity, confidence, and joy of the girls.

Book Day
Book Day in the Foundation Phase was a wonderful and exciting experience. Students brought their favourite book characters to life and proudly paraded their creative outfits. The day celebrated the joy and magic that books bring into our lives. “Hooked on Books” sparked laughter and curiosity, inspiring interest in new stories to explore. Students also took part in fun activities, exploring story elements in both English texts and their First Additional Languages.
