Big Walk 2025

The morning of Friday, 27 June dawned misty and cold. This was the morning of the 20th Big Walk to be held by the junior school at St Mary’s DSG. The Matric Alumnae Ambassadors opened the walk for us, and a few of the Alumnae Mums with their daughters began the walk. Very soon, 500 odd girls and family members were walking the course, absorbed in chatting to their friends as they completed many laps.

The Big Walk started out as a way to keep the “noise” around the chapel area down while the Senior school’s confirmation service was held. It has since become a highly anticipated yearly event, where the class that collects the most money overall enjoys a pool party at the end of the year.

We would like to thank all the girls for embracing the fun of this day and walking up a storm. Thank you to the parents who come to support their daughters and ensure that the sponsorships and donations are all paid up.
